We are a small boutique cattery in the Snowy Mountains of NSW.
My love of the Selkirk Rex breed lead me to showing and now the breeding of these quirky lovable cats.
The Selkirk Rex breed came about in 1987 when a cat in a shelter gave birth to kittens. One kitten was born with curly hair and carried the curly gene. This kitten was given to a breeder in Wyoming, USA who then mated it with one of her Persians. From there the breed was crossed with British Shorthairs and Exotics, which are still allowed as a cross today.
The breed is known for its thick plush coat which can also be found as a straight coated variant. Straight haired cats cannot be shown, but are useful in breeding and also make wonderful pets.
The Selkirk Rex breed are a beautifully natured and easy going cats who have integrated well with our Ragdoll cat household. If you would like to see our gorgeous cats first hand, keep an eye on our blog as we will be advertising the shows we will be attending.
We do have a waiting list for our kittens, if you are interested in joining our list, please use our contact us form.
